Mo. National Guard plans new $8M facility in Macon

MACON, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri National Guard is planning to build an $8 million vehicle maintenance facility in the north-central town of Macon.

The Guard says the 30,000-square-foot facility will service vehicles from across north-central Missouri. It will replace a smaller maintenance site built in the 1950s in Mexico, Mo.

The new building currently is in the design phase, and construction is scheduled for the 2014 fiscal year. It will be built on the site of the Macon armory, which is headquarters for the 1438th Engineer Company.
