Lincoln women run away with MIAA track title

EMPORIA, Kan. — The Lincoln women ran away with the title at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while the Blue Tiger men finished third.
The Lincoln women topped the 200-point plateau, racking up 204 to win it. Central Missouri was second with 172 and Missouri Southern and Emporia State were well back in a tie for third with 85.
Leading the way for Lincoln was Twishana Williams, who won four events. She took first in the 10,000-meter run (37:24.58), the 1,500-meter run (4:34.54, a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships), the 800-meter run (2:12.50, a provisional mark) and the 5,000-meter run (17:46.95).
On the men’s side, Pittsburg State’s 168.5 points claimed the title. Central Missouri was second with 153, while Lincoln was next with 125.
Sabiel Anderson was a double-winner for Lincoln, as he took first in the 110-meter hurdles (14.04, an automatic qualifying time) and the 400-meter hurdles (51.03, an automatic mark).
