Chamber presents annual report to city

Amid questions on the reporting practices of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, the organization submitted three years worth of reports and documentation to the city before giving its annual financial report.

At the City Council work session Monday, Chamber President and CEO Randy Allen presented the 2011 report of chamber activities and expenses, but not before addressing issues from the public.

"There's been some comments and concerns in the press and the public about lack of documentation," Allen said. "We've had documentation all along."

Allen then handed a CD to Mayor Eric Struemph with what he said were reports and audits from 2007 through 2010, as well as 15 other reports.

"It's in our city clerk's hands, so it's officially public," Struemph said.
