JC police work series of accidents

Blame the rain, Jefferson City Police said Friday night, for contributing to 18 different accidents between noon and 8:30 p.m. Friday.

None were serious, and most involved only property damage, mainly to the vehicles involved.

But some minor injuries were reported.

The worst situation occurred around 5:30 p.m., police said, when accidents in both directions on U.S. 50/63-East backed-up traffic at the Moreau River Bridge.

Police said they were able to move traffic in one lane while investigating the two wrecks.
