Scene One Theatre will present "Book of Days" to area residents starting next week.

Director Jack Renner said the play was written by Lanford Wilson, a Mid-Missouri native, and takes place in a small Missouri town. Renner said the play has a lot of humor, drama and mystery, much like life in any small town.

The town is largely focused around a cheese plant and much of the play focuses on the death of the plant's owner, who was lost mysteriously in a hunting accident.

The play features typical small-town conversations, Renner said, in a number of short scenes throughout the play.

"Everybody has a book of days," Renner said. "Whatever you do in a day is like a page in a book."
