Lincoln goes 1-3

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Lincoln baseball team picked up its first victory of the season Sunday, taking the first game of a doubleheader at Pittsburg State.

The Blue Tigers jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the lidlifter and held on for a 4-3 victory. The win snapped a nine-game losing skid to start the season for Lincoln.

Things didn’t go quite so well for the Blue Tigers in the nightcap, as they managed seven hits again but were shut out in a 4-0 loss.

On Saturday, the Gorillas swept a doubleheader with the Blue Tigers, winning by scores of 6-1 and 14-4.
