A drug raid on Wednesday resulted in a large amount of marijuana and other drugs valued at approximately $39,000.

Two Holts Summit residents are free on $65,500 bond each after they were arrested Wednesday night during a drug raid resulting in the seizure of a large amount of marijuana and other drugs valued at almost $39,000.

Arrested on three drug charges and two counts of first-degree child endangerment were Taylor Bowlds, 21, and Ciera Steffen, 17.

Both were arrested after a search warrant raid conducted by the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office at 2370 Laurwood Estates in Holts Summit.

The raid yielded several large plastic bags filled with marijuana. It was described by law enforcement officers as about 4 pounds of “Kush,” a high grade marijuana.

Also seized were 12 grams of methamphetamine, 10 ecstasy pills, suspected LSD, and heroin. Several other items of drug paraphernalia — including digital scales, packaging materials and smoking devices — were also seized.

Officers estimated the street value of the seized narcotics at $38,900.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reported that shortly after the pair’s arrest on Wednesday night, both of them posted bond and were released at 12:25 a.m. Thursday.

Where do a 21 and 17 year old get the kind of money to invest in this type of operation?

well I imagine they are growing the weed themselves. The jar with the weed in it is for curing it. somewhere in the holts summit area there is most likely a decent size indoor grow operation.

Police estimates of the street value of illicit drugs might be a little on the high side, but that's still quite a bit of stuff. Those kids might have worked really hard selling weed and other merchandise all through high school, saved their money, and then launched their highly successful business. On the other hand, my guess is it's some kind of a "franchise" operation and the goods are on consignment.

65k? isn't that kind of a cheap bond? My guess would be its out in the county somewhere or they are just the mules considering they had meth as well.. Since callaway co is pretty big it would be safer than growing it indoors. Tonto, i have a feeling that 17 yr old may STILL be selling it in school, either himself or by friends. It was easily available when i was in school and i went to private school. Glad to see it off the streets, good job guys you dont get enough credit.

kush is not grown outdoors. its a specific strain that is grown best in hydroponics. or they could be carrying it from chicago. and I can guess the reason the bond was so low. they want them out.

Marijuana for personal use, okay, Methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin, and possible LSD, No, these are not “harmless” drugs. They are beyond simply using, they are dealing and as such should see the inside of a prison which they won't even if convicted, because Missouri has Correctional Facilities where inmates have free room and board, medical and dental care and can't be made to work, if they don't want too.

What's bad is that his employer went thru and took all of the local sections out of the residents news papers violating their rights just so no one would find out. It's not like they didn't see it on the news and the family members had already seen it. All the time we hear about resident rights yet every time you turn around they are being violated. They deserve to know what kind of people are working in their home!!

that is absolutely bizarre. I'm still awaiting the news of a large grow operation being busted. but I'm sure by now it has moved.
