Smoking at Housing Authority properties discussed

Jefferson City Council members have been asked to intervene on smoking issues at Housing Authority residences.

At the Council Committee on Administration meeting Wednesday, council members and representatives of the Housing Authority discussed the issue of smoking in and around residences.

City Counselor Drew Hilpert said the Housing Authority is a largely independent, special entity.

Public property. Smoking not permitted. Same for city vehicles.

I agree JCLifer, I think it should be banned!! It's not different than a private landlord not allowing smoking in his/her building.
