In perhaps a little more than a year, Cole County could join 30 other counties in the state which have county zoning.
A public meeting was held Wednesday evening to explain the process of getting county zoning. About 30 people showed up at the Cole County Fire Protection District Station on Monticello Road to hear from the planning group the county commission hired to get a proposal together.
"The first draft won't be the final plan," Mark White of White & Smith, LLC of Kansas City, told the group.
