Ex-Gasconade Co. band director gets 15 days in jail

HERMANN, Mo. (AP) - The former band director at an eastern Missouri high school and middle school has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and two years of probation for providing pornographic material to a minor.

KSDK-TV (http://on.ksdk.com/ML7Rb4 ) reports that 32-year-old Joshua James of Hermann pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Wednesday.

James was the band director in the Gasconade County School District. He was arrested in June 2011 after investigators said he had inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old student. Police say they found email evidence that James enticed the teen to send graphic photos of herself.

James worked for the Gasconade district for about seven years. He resigned in July 2011.
