National TV look at Jefferson City coming up

Jefferson City will be featured on national television Saturday and Sunday.

CSPAN channels on Mediacom AHTV and BOOK TV will show several Local Content Vehicles features throughout the weekend.

All of the programming will air at once at 11 a.m. Saturday on BOOK TV and at 4 p.m. Sunday on AHTV.

Features on AHTV will include a visit to the Capitol and Governor's Mansion with an overview of the state and city's history, a tour of the Missouri State Penitentiary, a preview of the Missouri State Museum's 1904 World's Fair collection, a look at the Missouri State Archives collections, and a segment on Lincoln University's beginnings.

Book TV features will include a visit with former Missouri First Lady Jean Carnahan, several interviews with area authors, and a look at a Harriett Tubman-marked biography.
