Jays happy to have nine football games

High-school football doesn’t begin until August, but the Jefferson City Jays have already cleared a major hurdle: Filling the schedule.
Jays head coach Ted LePage said last week the school has completed its schedule that at one time included two open dates.
“It was a big relief,” LePage said. “It was one of those where you kind of go, ‘Yeah.’”
Filling the schedule has become a point of concern for not just Jefferson City, but many independent teams.
