Jays finish second to Park Hill at Capital City Invite
Sunday, January 15, 2012
It was an individual tournament, but the finals at the Capital City Invitational had all the earmarks of a Jefferson City-Park Hill dual.
The Jays and Trojans each placed seven wrestlers in Saturday night’s finals at Fleming Fieldhouse. Jefferson City won the battle, finishing 2-1 in head-to-head matchups with Park Hill. But the Trojans won the war, earning their ninth consecutive Invitational team title.
“I’m so proud of these kids, they did such a good job,” Jays coach Phil Cagle said.
