Overdose Leads to Arrest in JC

On Friday at about 9:00 a.m., Jefferson City Police responded to a possible overdose in the 2300 block of Grey Fox Terrace. Officers arrived at the scene and summoned Cole County EMS after having found an unresponsive 35 year old male Jefferson City resident.

Officers interviewed others at the residence and eventually spoke to the suspect, a 34 year old male Jefferson City resident, who had left prior to police arrival but returned some time later. The suspect, who resides at that location, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine and Xanax) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The victim, who had overdosed on heroin, was taken to an area hospital and was stabilized by medical personnel.
