Mo. business leaders explain top 3 priorities

Last year, Missouri’s business community urged lawmakers to “Fix the 6” — and won Gov. Jay Nixon’s signature on two of the half-dozen top priorities.
“We eliminated the corporate franchise tax,” said Dan Mehan, president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “and we cut expenses on unemployment insurance by around $200 million.”
So this year, Mehan told reporters and supporters at a Tuesday afternoon news conference in the Capitol Rotunda, a coalition of state business organizations wants lawmakers to approve its top three priorities, being called the “Missouri Business Climate Agenda.”
