White files for third term as Cole County sheriff

"We have successfully walked with our citizens through difficult times," White said.

With the completion of the new jail, White said he and his staff are fine-tuning the operations with the jail making life safer for citizens, inmates and staff.

White noted that the office of sheriff has worked several homicides, some of which brought national focus to Cole County, and delivered them to the prosecuting attorney for successful prosecution.

White also said DWI fatalities have seen a sustained a reduction of more than 60 and that meth production, with cooperation between all state and local law enforcement agencies, has been virtually driven from Cole County.

White and his agency have partnered with the Jefferson City Police Department in the HOPE Campaign attacking heroin sales and use in Cole County. Most recently, the sheriff's office has partnered with the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and other task force members resulting in search warrants and about 26 people arrested on heroin-related charges.

In seeking his third term as sheriff, White said he will continue to provide innovative leadership in a rapidly changing environment.

"We need to continually improve our technology and methodology to best fight crime and partner with our citizens to provide for our common good," White said. "I ask for your vote to continue to serve you as your sheriff."
