Deadlines set for absentee voting

Applications are now being accepted in the Cole County clerk's office for absentee voting through April 2 for those wishing to vote.

Those who would like to make application for a family member in the armed forces, college or confined to the home due to illness or physical disability should do so as soon as possible, so ballots have ample time to get back to the clerk's office by April 3.

All ballots mailed out by the clerk must be received by 7 p.m. Election Day.

The deadline for mailing out an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 28.

The clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m.-noon March 31 for those who wish to vote absentee. The deadline to cast an absentee ballot in the clerk's office will be 5 p.m. Monday, April 2.

If you know you will be out of town for the election, call the clerk's office at 634-9101 to find out how to obtain a ballot.
