Jefferson City to approve new ward boundaries
Friday, February 17, 2012
The Jefferson City Council is expected to approve new ward boundaries Monday, after a period of public comment brought almost no input.
The city has to redraw its ward and precinct lines to match the population changes the 2010 U.S. Census showed since the 2000 Census. In that time, the city’s official population grew by 3,443, with the 4th Ward showing the most growth. As a result, the 4th Ward will shrink.
In other business, an ordinance will be introduced that would allow the city to revoke business licenses of after-hours clubs.
