In a battle of state-ranked teams, it was only fitting it would go down to the wire.
Good thing for the Jays they had their “go-to-guy” up.
Jefferson City’s John Carter pinned Rock Bridge’s Michael Stennard in just 19 seconds to lift the Jays to a 40-33 dual-meet victory Monday night at Fleming Fieldhouse.
“John’s our go-to-guy,” Jays head coach Phil Cagle said. “He loves that kind of pressure and he thrives on that kind of pressure.”
