Dear Editor:
Let's Transform Jefferson City now! As a young professional born and raised in Jefferson City, I believe that this opportunity to revitalize, energize and enliven our city is one that we need to take advantage of today.
Since I moved back to Jefferson City after graduating from college in 2005, I have seen the city blossom and grow from simply the town I grew up in to a community that recognizes its treasures and is ready to utilize them and make Jefferson City the jewel it should be. The assets that Jefferson City has are tremendous and the enthusiasm of those in our community is remarkable; but we must grasp this chance to change the future of Jefferson City and make it a city that we can continue to be proud of!
For years, my husband and I have traveled to Kansas City, St. Louis and Chicago visiting our friends, seeking entertainment and finding fun things to do. But now, I'm ready for Jefferson City to be the destination that all of our friends want to come to because it's a lively, fun, hip place to be.
This half-cent sales tax will do just that; it will make Jefferson City a place in which residents have pride, a place that will attract visitors from all over the country.
Please join me in voting yes Feb. 7 because this is our time!
