JC man faces drug charges after overdose

A Jefferson City man who overdosed on heroin this weekend is now facing criminal charges.

Dennis Bussell, 49, of 411 Hickory St., was charged with possession of controlled substances Lorazepam and Alprazolam along with possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement claims officers obtained a search warrant and seized three tablets from Bussell‘s bedroom, hidden inside an over-the-counter allergy medicine bottle containing other non-controlled prescription drugs.

Other items seized from the bedroom included a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue, two pipes containing suspected crack cocaine, a resealable plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine residue, baggies containing suspected heroin residue and a box of razor blades.
