Emergency room data released by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in 2009 shows Cole County emergency room visits are higher than the state’s average in terms of pregnancy, childbirth and reproduction, and in terms of pregnancy complications.
Cole County’s rate for pregnancy, childbirth and reproduction emergency room visits is 9.6 compared to the state rate of 7.76. This category includes visits pertaining to pregnancy, contraception, complications of pregnancy, early labor and fetal distress.
