When it was all over, Fatima’s super start was better than Southern Boone’s fantastic finish.
In a game worthy of two teams appearing in the Class 3 state rankings, Fatima jumped out early and held on for a 65-63 win in the Missouri National Guard Shootout on Saturday.
The sixth-ranked Comets jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first 3:14, giving them a lead they would never relinquish.
“At the start, it looked like a Southern Boone team that hadn’t had a game for a week and a half,” Eagles coach Andy Jahnsen said. “You take the first quarter away, we win the game.
