Lincoln’s best came from its bench Wednesday night.
But despite a strong effort from four reserves, the Blue Tigers fell a missed 3-pointer short in a 75-72 loss to Maryville at Jason Gym.
“I thought that was the best we have played all year from the bench,” Lincoln coach John Redmond said. “You couldn’t ask for a better bench tonight. They were the reason that we stayed close. Our starters just didn’t do a whole lot. Our bench really played well.”
All Lincoln starters not named Charles Cole combined to play just 20 minutes in the second half against the Saints. The four primary backups — Darius Whitson, Brandon Stanciel, Greg Motley and Devin Booker — amassed 39 minutes of combined playing time after the intermission.
