Final play comes up short as Helias falls to Rolla

The Helias Lady Crusaders did what they wanted to do on the last play.

Except have the ball go in the basket.

Helias’ last-second ball bounced off the rim Thursday night as the Rolla Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Crusaders 59-57 at Rackers Fieldhouse.

“We’ve always had more success with letting the clock run rather than calling a timeout to set something up,” Helias coach Doug Light said. “Just let it happen. But it didn’t turn our way this time.”
