After difficult offseason, Calvary Lutheran begins play

After a long, difficult preseason, the Calvary Lutheran girls basketball team will finally get their reward tonight.

When the Lady Lions take to the court at New Bloomfield for a 6:30 p.m. contest, it will be the first time in a long time they’ve gotten to play 5-on-5.

That’s because Calvary boasts just seven players on their roster, and many of them have been hobbled during the lead-up to the first game from injuries suffered during the fall seasons of softball and volleyball.

But now it’s time to leave all of that behind.
