Council discusses changes to fire station design

The Jefferson City Council looked at increased costs for design of the new Fire Station No. 3 on Monday, questioning the $51,000 fee increase to the contract with Peckham and Wright.
The majority of increased cost comes from the hardened 911 call center and other small areas that will provide shelter to station personnel in the event of an emergency. City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus said a small portion of the call center will also store the city’s back-up computer servers.
