COLUMBIA, Mo. - With the different variables that go along with a scrimmage, it can be tough to fully evaluate the good and bad.
But the Missouri coaches did find something in Thursday morning's scrimmage at Faurot Field: The offense, particularly the quarterback play, needs to be more consistent.
The Tigers' offense failed to generate a lot of momentum, especially early on, leaving Missouri coach Gary Pinkel to describe quarterback James Franklin's play as "disappointing."
"All of a sudden he doesn't play real well, and all of a sudden he finishes like he's going to be first team all-SEC," Pinkel said. "That's disappointing. We'll talk to James about that."
Franklin finished 16-of-25 for 177 yards. He tossed an 11-yard touchdown to Marcus Lucas, but also threw an interception.
