Mid-Missouri family still seeks answers four years after fatal stabbing

The family of a Rocky Mount man killed four years ago in Jefferson City is still hoping people have information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons who killed their relative.

George "Allen" Nickols, 31, was killed around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 16, 2008, in the 300 block of West Atchison Street.

Jefferson City police said at the time it appeared two groups of people had gotten into some type of disagreement and it escalated to the point where Nickols was stabbed to death.

"Someone saw something and they just don't want to turn in their friends," said Nickols' sister, Angela Sias-Bencomo. "We just want the public to know that we won't forget him."

The case has been brought before the Cole County Grand Jury, but those who spoke to the jury did not give enough information for charges to be filed.

The Jefferson City Area CrimeStoppers is still offering a $1,000 reward for information about this case. Information can be left anonymously on the CrimeStoppers Hotline, (573) 659-TIPS, or online at www.jeffcitycrimestoppers.com.
