Wymore Place revival places creature comforts in cool, old building

One of the few places to see the Missouri Capitol dome from someone's home, Wymore Place Apartments offer the unique view to 18 tenants.

The 88-year-old, three-building complex at 323 Washington St. was the first of its kind during Jefferson City's booming growth of the 1920s.

The quality of the 1924-built properties could not be affordably matched by building new today, said Jay Burchfield, co-owner of Silver Tree Properties.

The August Golden Hammer award-winning building is named for its first owner Frank Wymore, who also lived there and worked as the complex manager.
