Burkett ready to anchor Jays’ defense this season

Joey Burkett is building himself quite the resume. He is the best high school pole vaulter in the state, and he can probably lay claim to being the team’s best gymnast.

Soon, he will add Division I college football player to his resume, after verbally committing to Missouri earlier this year.

But what about his final year at Jefferson City High School?

“I’ve got a lot of responsibility,” Burkett said.
