Green-Beckham winning team over off the field

COLUMBIA — It’s hard for Dorial Green-Beckham to find a place where he can get away from the hype that goes with being the nation’s No. 1 football recruit.
Add the athletic dinning hall at Missouri to that list.
“We’ll be in line and the guys will be like, ‘Hey Dorial, go ahead, we’ve got a spot for you,” Missouri quarterback James Franklin said. “And he was like, ‘Oh no, they’ve already got my plate somewhere.’”
For Green-Beckham, joking and “keeping things light” is a way to deal with all the attention he gets. And he gets a lot of it these days.
“I deal with it lightly,” Green-Beckham said. “I just go out there and stay humble, really. I just want to be able to be seen as being humble and not one of those guys who is seen as bragging about everything.”
Time will tell if the wide receiver will put up numbers like he did at Springfield Hillcrest High School, totals that made recruiting experts compare his skill set to Randy Moss and Terrell Owens.
But Green-Beckham has already had a chance to make an impression on his teammates and coaches. Not on the field, but how he handles himself off the field. And they’ve been rave reviews so far.
