Matt Roudebush, left, visits with Connor Hulett after Wednesday morning’s Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club meeting at Capitol Plaza Hotel. Roudebush spoke to the group about his year abroad in Cremona, Italy, as a foreign exchange student. Hulett, who is from the Lake Ozark area, will be spending the next year in the same town as Roudebush. He thanked the Rotarians for making the stay possible and what he learned about the people, culture and traditions, as well as what he learned about himself.
In Italy, they provide filling dinners, and in Brazil, they give warm affection. Host families reflect a nation’s culture while a student from another country lives with them.
Matt Roudebush on Wednesday shared his 11-month experience in Cremona, Italy, with the Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club, which sponsored him.
Connor Hulett, 17, sat in on the presentation. He will leave for his year in the same town of 60,000 next month, sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Rotary Club.
