Man charged with statutory rape

A Jefferson City man is being held on $50,000 bond in the Cole County Jail after being charged with second degree statutory rape.

Prosecutors charged Derick G. Keith, 24, of 324 E. Dunklin St., with having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl.

A Jefferson City police said Keith admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim on a number of occasions from April 7-19.
