Lady Crusaders ready for more competition

A little competition can go a long way. It's led the Helias Lady Crusaders to a successful start to the soccer season.

"The girls are competitive with each other in practice and that makes them better," Helias coach Chuck Register said. "Then they take that competitiveness into games. They're in competition every day."

That competition will continue tonight and Saturday as the Lady Crusaders will play three games in the Capital City Invitational at 179 Soccer Park.

Helias (9-2, ranked No. 5 in Class 2 by the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association) brings a seven-game winning streak into today's 7 p.m. contest against Rosati-Kain. The last five of those ....
