New JC council to be sworn in Monday

New members of the Jefferson City Council will take their seats Monday after a meeting of the current council.

Monday’s meeting will be held in two parts, with the current council acting first before adjourning and swearing in the new council members: Rick Prather in the 1st Ward, J. Rick Mihalevich in the 2nd Ward and Larry D. Henry Jr. in the 5th Ward. Two incumbents, 3rd Ward Councilman Bob Scrivner and 4th Ward Councilwoman Carrie Carroll, also will be sworn.

The current council will act on several pending bills before the new council takes its place.
