Second man sentenced in 2011 shooting death
Thursday, April 12, 2012
A second Jefferson City man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the death of a man who was shot in a March 2011 confrontation over a woman.
Terrell Edwards, 29, of 316 Cherry St., pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of shooting a firearm from a vehicle at another vehicle with a person inside, resulting in the death of Cortez Bellamy, 24.
The sentence was part of a plea agreement with the Cole County prosecutor’s office.
Last week, Rondric Hunt, 25, of 312 E. Dunklin St., was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for pleading guilty to the same charge.

For me I say 10 years for killing someone doesn't work. I think that when a person kills someone the only sentence for them would be the death sentence, nothing else.

These guys already have rap sheets a mile long. Why do we keep giving them more opportunities to murder others? Put them away for good, or else give the vermin the needle.

The should be out to reload their weapons while on parole in about 3-5 years. What a nice light sentence for the same crime as Bustamonte who got life plus 30. If I had to stake my life on it, I'd rather have Bustamonte out than these 2.
