Volunteers needed for 8 projects around JC

“It is time to shine” is the slogan for SERVE Jeff City, a local volunteer group hoping to organize about 300 volunteers to work April 21 on various beautification projects throughout the city.

Gus Wagner, SERVE organizer, said the idea came from Ken Hussey, who had seen volunteers drive in other communities.

After Hussy spoke to the young professionals group about the idea, it really began to “get wings,” Wagner said.

“We are looking for folks who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and help with some planting downtown,” he said. “There are cleanups and plantings going on all over the area.”
