Lady Jays get needed soccer win against Quincy

It wasn't a make-or-break game for the Jefferson City Lady Jays. But they treated it like one.

After Tuesday night's 1-0 home loss to Moberly, Jefferson City coach Matt Stacey challenged his team to perform better. And for one game at least, they did.

"I talked to the seniors about leading on the field and taking ownership of this team," Stacey said after Jefferson City blanked Quincy (Ill.) 2-0 at 179 Soccer Park.

"And I had the same discussion with the freshman class. It's their season as well, they're a big part of this team and as much a part of this program as everybody else."
