Osage City prepares for new RR bridge

OSAGE CITY, Mo. - For the next 18 months or so, Osage City is going to be a busier place than usual, as construction crews work to build the Union Pacific Railroad's new 1,200-foot, $20-million second bridge across the Osage River.

Many residents welcome the boost to the local economy, but note the town really is busier than the rest of the area might expect.

They're concerned the construction work will block the roads more than the passing trains do now, creating a delay in ambulance responses for emergencies.
