I have just two words for the letter of Sept. 13 by Dennis Morrissey on the CWIP law.
Thank you! Dennis, I cannot remember how many letters I wrote to this column (with no feedback I might add) or how many times I called my senator last session trying to get a straight answer about the Ameren bill that was being debated.
I agree completely that Ameren rate payers should not foot any upfront cost of another reactor with little more than a "just in case we decide to build it" guarantee.
I'm with you about the fact that all you ever hear about is Ameren asking for and getting a rate increase. Of the last five they have requested, the PSC has granted at least a percentage of every one. Some increase requests coming before the one they were just granted have even gone into effect.
Since it seems our legislators are still adamant about repealing or amending the law Missourians voted for, it's nice to see someone else get vocal.
