Museum friends donate costumes, sign
Sunday, September 18, 2011
Young visitors have enjoyed trying on a lady’s hoop skirt or a soldier’s uniform, as part of a more interactive approach in the Missouri State Museum’s Civil War exhibit.
The hands-on clothing exhibit has been so popular that most of the pieces needed replacing two years after opening.
The replacement period costumes, valued at about $400, will be furnished by the Friends of the State Museum, recently approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit.
