Marine shares tale of his sacrifice

During a recent planning meeting for Veterans Appreciation Night, a dinner hosted by the Jefferson City High School Ambassador Club to honor local area veterans, advisory board members were introduced to Tyler Huffman — a Marine wounded in Afghanistan late last year.

Huffman, who was an eighth-grade student when the 9/11 terror attacks occurred, knew he wanted to serve his nation some day.

“I and a few of my friends made a commitment that we were going to join the service when we were old enough,” the Marine remarked.

Huffman shared with the board the story of the day he was injured while serving in Afghanistan.
