Cheering parade watchers fill High Street.

Abraham Hoose, 4, stood on his dad’s shoulders, waving American flags in both hands toward the emergency responders, service men and others in Jefferson City’s Patriots Day Parade.

The Sunday event was one of several local remembrances marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that caused 2,977 deaths.

Other events featured a walk and a display at Capital Mall featuring the names of the 343 firefighters who died during Sept. 11 rescue attempts.
