Community members had been hoping to rescue a dog missing since Wednesday's fatal accident at Route C and South Country Club, but the end of LuLu's story is a sad one.

The body of LuLu, a 7-year-old Lhasa Apso, was found Friday. Lulu was in the car with her owner, Joan D. Hamilton, of Lenexa, Kan., who was killed in the accident. Authorities who responded to the accident, which also killed 58-year-old Donald A. Edwards, Russellville, couldn't manage to locate the dog in the aftermath.

Community members had planned to meet in the area Saturday morning to search for the dog, but the dog's body was found around 5:30 p.m. Friday about 100 yards from the scene. She was apparently badly injured, most likely from the crash.
