Police report details accident involving officer

Jefferson City police have released the accident report on the Monday morning wreck involving an off-duty officer, which led to a request for city charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated.

City Prosecutor Brian Stumpe said late Wednesday afternoon he had received paperwork from the police department on its investigation, and he was reviewing the information before deciding whether to file charges.

The officer, Rachael Barnard, 35, was put on administrative leave as the investigation continues.

Police reported the accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Tanner Bridge Road.
