Woman found dead in St. Louis hotel bathtub

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis homicide investigators are looking into the death of a central Illinois woman whose body was found bound and gagged in a hotel bathtub.

Police identified the woman Thursday afternoon as 29-year-old Jenifer Goertzen of Morton, Ill.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/oIuu4B) reports police were called to a Holiday Inn at Interstate 44 and Hampton Avenue around 9 a.m. Thursday. A hotel housekeeper drew back the curtains of the bathtub and found the woman. The room was on the sixth floor of the hotel.

Some members of the Texas Rangers organization, in St. Louis for the World Series, are staying at the hotel, but police do not believe the woman was connected to the team.
