Four file for Jefferson City Council seats on first day

The filing period for city elections began Tuesday with four candidates signing up to run for council seats.

Two incumbents and two newcomers have filed for the open seats. Fourth Ward Councilwoman Carrie Carroll has filed to run for her third term, and 5th Ward Councilman Dave Griffith has filed to run for his second term.

Tyler Woods has filed to run for the 1st Ward seat of current Councilman Mike Harvey, who has reached his term limit and cannot seek re-election. J. Rick Mihalevich has filed to run for the 2nd Ward seat of current Councilman Rich Koon.
