You don't think that maybe a higher percentage of crimes are reported in the news than they previously were?

No. This town used to have a murder once every year or two. Now we have a murder nearly once a month. The crime is much more than it was 30 years ago. The town itself looks way more ghetto now than it did 30 years ago. We used to have residents who were proud of their property and who took care of it. Now we have boarded up homes all over the east side and ghetto looking houses with peeling paint, tall weeds, crumbling concrete, and old beater cars in the yard all over town.

We have thugs walking down the middle of the streets now, just daring motorists to hit them.

Don't forget Miller County. We were a wealthier people 30 years ago. Most of those east-side dumps are owned, and neglected, by white landlords Lifer. As for the "hit me with that car, I dare ya!" bit, well Darwin will sort that bit of culture out fairly quick.

I don't care if the dumps are owned by green landlords. The city should make them bring their dumps up to code or else tear them down.

I consider it a sign of the times. People are hard up and some are willing to serve the mentality that "I need it more than they do so I'm going to take it from them". The it can be robbing money or breaking into cars/homes to steal property to sell. I'm sure money for drugs is also a motivator, but maybe not "THE" motivator.

We aren't talking about Osage County. I don't know what their crime rate was 10 years ago compared to how it is now...but I do know about JC. And I do know that JC crime rate is increasing and the minorities are the ones committing the crimes! I'm not racist...I'm observant and informed!!
