FULTON, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders will send a singles player and a doubles team to the Class 1 sectional competition.
Danica Shimkus will play in singles while the duo of Abbey Gober and Ashley Roling will play one match each Monday at Hannibal to see if they can advance to the individual state tournament.
Shimks finished second in the individual singles competition Saturday. She won her first match 6-0, 6-0, then won 6-0, 75 in the semifinals. She dropped a 1-6, 1-6 decision in the championship match.
Gober and Roling won the doubles title, winning three matches Saturday. They won their first two matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0, then won the title with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory.
The doubles team of Casey Clogston and Cassidy Schrimpf went 1-1 on Saturday, as did Abbey Verslues in singles.
